Røros Tweed Myrull Wool Blanket

Myrull with a simple design in natural hues reflects the hillside landscape of Røros, Norway and the beautiful blanket colors reflect the fjords and forest setting.    Røros is one of the oldest towns of wooden buildings in Europe, and is located on a gently sloping plateau 2,060 feet above sea level. The city was founded in 1644, when the first copper ore was found in the area, and over the years Røros became one of the most important mining towns in Norway. 

Design by Karen Staver who was educated at Statens håndverks- og kunstindustriskole and at Oslo and Bergen kunsthøgskole. She was employed as a designer of upholstery fabrics and curtains from 1971 to 1985. Then, as a freelance textile designer for various companies, including Røros Tweed.
