Skaftö, a remote island community of around 2,000 in west Sweden, explodes during the summer vacation to over 20,000! It is one of many islands on the West coast of Sweden. Thousands, with their quaint fishing villages and granite rock formations litter the shoreline from Göteborg to Norway offering some easy down time, eating buckets of prawns and smoked mackerel, chatting with the locals and taking and early morning walks along slowly meandering, deserted, coastal roads, encountering stunning views at every corner.
Owner designer Åse Öjbro has created wearable glove art (Åse was also an artist of paints and palette for over 20 years before deciding to express her art in wool). She has created this innovative alternating small v-shaped uniform patterns of lice "lusemonsters" believed to protect from evil spirits on the back of the hand. The cuffs are set off in the red sunrise and sunsets of Skafto. The inside palm has a tighter version of smaller "lusemonsters".
Made in Sweden in Ted Öjbro's small family facility with 100% ORGANIC merino wool and an additional 3 layers of insulation.
